In 2014 VMB embraced the opportunity to move from a business that sold buttons and bandwidth to one with a purpose – to be the go-to digital partner in a more entrepreneurial UK PLC.
British start ups and growing businesses needed a tech partner to help them step beyond the old boom and bust culture and dot com hype to create more sustainable and dynamic opportunities and successes through smarter tech thinking and doing.
So we branded the feeling of a Virgin style version of Boom – a sustained rush of accelerated doing – and called it #VOOM – Virgin Media Business’s word for business success accelerated by smarter faster sharper digital thinking and doing.
VOOM was developed from the inside out, breaking cover in the everyday world in the guise of the #VOOM Pitch competition – where businesses pitch their business idea to Sir Richard Branson and his celebrity A team of judges.
